August NASA selects Frank Borman (Commander), Jim Lovell and Bill Anders for Apollo 8.
August NASA selects Jim McDivitt (Commander), Dave Scott and Rusty Schweickart for Apollo 9.
October 11-12 Apollo 7 Saturn 1B mission with astronauts Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele and Walt Cunningham.
November NASA announces that the Apollo 8 mission will orbit the moon.
November NASA selects Tom Stafford (Commander), John Young and Gene Cernan for Apollo 10.
December 21 - 27 Apollo 8 Saturn V mission with astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders.

January NASA selects Neil Armstrong (Commander), Mike Collins and Buzz Aldrin for Apollo 11.
March 3 Apollo 9 Saturn V mission (aka Gumdrop and Spider) with astronauts Jim McDivitt, Dave Scott, and Rusty Schweickart.
May 18 - 26 Apollo 10 Saturn V mission (aka Charlie Brown and Snoopy) with astronauts Tom Stafford, John Young and Gene Cernan.
July 16 - 24 Apollo 11 Saturn V mission (aka Columbia and Eagle). First manned lunar landing mission and lunar surface mission. Landing site: Sea of Tranquility. Astronauts Neil Armstrong (Commander), Mike Collins and Buzz Aldrin.
