Cuban Missile Crisis Timeline part 1 of 9 from 1954 to 1959 at Timeline Help. The history world event took place in october 1962 but tensions started much earlier. The crisis between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. brought the world on the brink of a nuclear world war. All major events, the Soviet missiles on Cuba, sabotage operations, spy flights, naval blockade, reactions of the international community, the secret meetings and negotiations are in my nine part Cuban Missile Crisis Timeline.

The U.S. places atomic bombs in Japan aimed at the Soviet Union.

The U.S. places more missiles and bombs in Japan.

The U.S installs nuclear bombs and missiles in Puerto Rico aimed at Cuba.

The Soviet Union tests an intercontinental ballistic rocket.

The U.S. places nuclear missiles on Greenland against the Soviet Union.

The U.S. installs bombs in Spain and France.

The United States places in Taiwan and Korea aimed at the U.S.S.R. and China.

Fidel Castro assumes power on Cuba.

Fidel Castro condemns the U.S. support of the former General Batista government.

The United States places missiles and bombs on the Turkish border with the U.S.S.R.

American Allen Mayer fails to assassinate Castro.

Fidel Castro becomes Cuban Prime Minister.

The Soviet Union develops the SS-4 MRBM missile that would later be transported to Cuba.

Assasination attempt against Castro fails, one of the suspects flees to Florida.

Prime Minister Castro meets U.S. vice-president Nixon and United Nations representatives.

The CIA makes up plans to murder Fidel Castro.
Osvaldo Dorticós Torrado becomes President of Cuba.

The U.S. attacks a passenger train.

The U.S. destroys sugar mills in Pinar del Rio and Camaguey.

The U.S. bombs Havana. Two peope are being killed.
