Gaels arrive in Ireland.

The High Kingship at Tara in County Meath is established.

Naill of the Nine Hostages becomes High King. He rules until 405 AD.

The reign of King McNeill begins. He reigns until 463 AD.

Palladius is sent to Ireland by Pope Celestine the First to be Bishop. Palladius dies soon after arriving.

Saint Patrick arrives in Ireland to convert the pagan Irish Kings to Christianity.

Saint Patrick dies after succeeding at introducing both the Christian Church and Roman Civilization to Ireland.

Crop failures and famine in Ireland, due possibly to a volcanic winter.

Irish monastic influence reaches its peak with the founding of two monastic schools.

The Vikings attack Ireland on Lambay Island, off the coast of Dublin.

Vikings establish settlements in Waterford, Dublin and Limerick.
