President George W. Bush lists Iraq, Iran and North Korea as an "axis of evil." He vows that the United States "will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons."

President Bush challenges the UN to enforce its own resolutions against Iraq. If the UN will not, Bush declares the US will have no other choice than to act against Iraq on its own.

The United States Congress authorizes an attack on Iraq.

For the first time in almost four years weapons inspectors from the United Nations return to Iraq.

A 12,000 page declaration is submitted by Iraq regarding its biological, chemical and nuclear activities. They claim they have no banned weapons.

President Bush approves U S A troops being deployed to the Persian Gulf.
