She has an unbelievable great talent to connect emotionally with men and women in her tv shows. And as you can see in this timeline of her life and works, she has received many awards and other forms of credits. I like to watch her, so I made an unauthorized five page Oprah Winfrey timeline.

January 29 Oprah Gail Winfrey is born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, U.S as daughter to Vernon Winfrey and Vernita Lee.

Oprah is raised by grandmother Grandma Hattie Maeon.

Sent to live with her mother, stepsister and later, stepbrother in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Raped by her cousin and uncle.

Runs away from home.
Oprah gives birth to a boy, who died soon.
Her mothers plans to sent Oprah to a juvenile hall are cancelled.
Moves to Nashville, Tennessee to live with her father and stepmother Zelma.
Becomes a honors student and graduates from East Nashville High School.

Reads the news at WVOL local radio station in Nashville while still in high school.
Earns a Tennessee State University scholarship based on her communication abilities.

Graduated from East Nashville High School.
Crowned Miss Black Tennessee and Miss Fire Prevention.
Takes part in the Miss Black America Pageant.

Graduated from Tennessee State University with a Degree in Speech and Performing Arts.
Becomes the youngest person and first African-American woman TV news anchor at WTVF-TV in Nashville.

Six o’clock news anchor and reporter at WJZ-TV Baltimore, Maryland.
Meets her best friend Gayle King, a production assistant at WJZ-TV.

Cohosts the morning talk show People Are Talking on Baltimore's WJZ-TV with Richard Sher.

Moves to Chicago, Illinois.

Hosts A.M. Chicago, WLS-TV's morning talk show.

Makes her acting debut in Steven Spielberg's The Color Purple as Sofia.
