- 1920 | He separates from his longtime companion, Fernande, and moves in with Eva Gouel. He begins working with collages and holds exhibitions at the Dalmau Galleries in Barcelona.
Picasso's father dies.
Georges Braque is mobilized by World War I, and Cubism comes to an end as an artistic movement.
His companion, Eva Gouel, passes away.
Through Jean Cocteau, Picasso meets the director of the Ballets Russes. He begins working on a ballet called Parade.
He travels to Italy to work with the ballet. He meets Olga Khokhlova, a ballerina. The show opens in Paris, with the wardrobe, decoration and curtain designed by Picasso.
Picasso marries Olga in Paris. He shares an exhibition with Matisse at the Paul Guillaume Gallery in Paris.
Picasso travels to London to prepare another ballet production, The Three-Cornered Hat.
