Growth and development continues.
Vaccinations for distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, coronavirus, and other problems may be given between ages 6 to 9 weeks.

Puppies gain total visual and hearing capacity.
They are curious and will investigate anything that captures their attention.
Do not recognize their names yet.

They may develop fears of noises, items or other things. They are extremely sensitive to upsetting incidents.
They begin to learn their names.
Dominant and subordinate behavior is strong among the litter.
Puppies can start to learn right behavior from wrong behavior.
Motor skills improve.
They have a very short attention span.
Pups will begin to focus attention on the owner rather than the other pups.
House training can begin.

Puppies are getting their permanent teeth and chew on everything they can find. Appropriate materials should be provided.
Puppies will challenge the owner's authority at this age.
Rabies, leptospirosis, and Lyme disease vaccinations are given.
