- Week 2
- Week 3
- Week 4 | The eggs are fertilized. Your dog may feel sick or undergo personality changes.
The embryos will grow from 4 cells to 64 cells in this week and enter the uterus.
The embryos implant in the uterus around day 19 of the pregnancy.
Puppies are now developing eyes and spinal cords. Their faces are forming and they grow from 5 to 10 mm to 14 to 15mm in length. Pups are most susceptible to defects at this time as their organs begin to form. Palpation can be done between days 26 and 32 to feel for pups and diagnose pregnancy. Your dog may exhibit a clear vaginal discharge at this time and mammary development begins.
