Wins the USGA Junior Amateur Championship.

Wins the Ping/Phoenix Junior, Orange Bowl Junior International, CIF-SCGA High School Invitational Championship, Los Angeles City Junior Championship, Southern California Junior Championship, and the Edgewood Tahoe Junior Classic. His first PGA Tour event, the Nissan Los Angeles Open. Wins the Rolex Junior All-American with his team.

Named Player of the Year by AJGA, Golf Digest and Southern California. Named Titleist-GolfWeek National Amateur of the Year.

Wins the Ping Phoenix Junior, Nabisco Mission Hills Desert Junior, Pro Gear San Antonio Shoot-out, and the Insurance Youth Golf Classic Big I National, Second in the Optimist Junior International World. Fifth in the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament of Champions. Plays in PGA Los Angeles Open and US Open Sectional Qualifying. Named GolfWorld Player of the Year. Accepts a scholarship to attend Stanford University.

Graduates from Western High School, Anaheim, California. Enters Stanford University. Plays in the Byron Nelson Classic, Honda Classic, US Open Sectional Qualifying, and the Los Angeles Open. Wins William Tucker Invitational, the U.S. Amateur Championship, Southern California Junior Best Ball Championship, the US Amateur Championship at the TPC at Sawgrass, and the William Tucker Invitational. Wins with his team the Rolex Junior All-American. Wins the Dial Award 1993 for top national high school male athletes. Second AJGA Taylor Made Woodlands. Southern California and GolfWorld Player of the Year.
