February 5 - 6 Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell walk on the Moon. March NASA selects John Young (Commander), Ken Mattingly and Charlie Duke for Apollo 16. July 26 - August 7 Apollo 15 Saturn V mission (aka Endeavor and Falcon). Fourth lunar landing. Landing site: Hadley-Apennine region near Apennine Mountains. Astronauts: Dave Scott (Commander), Al Worden and Jim Irwin. July 31 – August 2 David Scott and James Irwin walk on the Moon. August NASA selects Gene Cernan (Commander), Ron Evans and Jack Schmitt for Apollo 17.
