February 5 - 6 Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell walk on the Moon.
March NASA selects John Young (Commander), Ken Mattingly and Charlie Duke for Apollo 16.
July 26 - August 7 Apollo 15 Saturn V mission (aka Endeavor and Falcon). Fourth lunar landing. Landing site: Hadley-Apennine region near Apennine Mountains. Astronauts: Dave Scott (Commander), Al Worden and Jim Irwin.
July 31 – August 2 David Scott and James Irwin walk on the Moon.
August NASA selects Gene Cernan (Commander), Ron Evans and Jack Schmitt for Apollo 17.

March NASA selects Jack Swigert, Deke Slayton and Vance Brand for the Apollo Soyuz Test Project.
