Charles Wilkes explores the flora and fauna of Washington.

John C. Fremont maps the topography of the Rocky Mountains.

Marcus Whitman leads thousand pioneers on Oregon Trail, called the Great Migration.

President James K. Polk launches his plan to fix the border line.

The Oregon Treaty signed by the US and Great Britain sets the northwestn boundary at the 49th parallel.
